[bg=ffffff]WORD COUNT;; 95 MOOD;; impressed NOTES;; hes intruding
Caidens slippery silver fur gleamed in the mountain light. He kept his eyes to the sky, aware that Ava lurked somewhere near here. He paced the open clearing, getting used to the feel of rocks under his feet. He grunted at the sharp pains, a reminder of why wolves belonged in the water. He waved his tail fin, pretending he was swimming now.
He approached the edge, looking down on Ughondrea. What a nice view. The mountains werent too bad, though rivers were much better. Still, he couldnt deny the aerial beauty of the world.

The rabbit in Hephaestus’ jaws hung limply, its life force having ebbed away when the smoky black male had delivered his killing bite. The thrill of the chase should still have been hot in the shade male’s veins, but instead he stood stock still, his long muzzle directed into the breeze. Even over the taste of fresh blood, he could smell something that he didn’t want to smell; the odour of a strange wolf.
With a grunt of anger, he buried the rabbit in the shade of a large tree and began following the scent, a task that only grew easier as he drew nearer. Before long he could see the other male, a riverstone judging by his strange fin-like tail. Hephaestus gave a short, sharp bark to alert the intruder to his presence. He said nothing, but there was no doubting the hostility in his glowing yellow eyes.

The silvery gray wolf turned around slowly, and saw a smoky black wolf. Caiden guessed he was a shade by the glowing eyes. "Hey, whats up?" the riverstone male asked casually, wagging his tail fin a bit. He cocked his head to the left curiously, wondering what sort of response the male would formulate.
He smirked. This was always the best part. Whatever the pack wolf said would set which cards Caiden could play. The suspense was absolutely delightful, he almost wanted to lick the shades face all over in gratitude for how wonderful he already was making Caiden feel. The image of such a scene gave him the funnies, and he laughed quietly inside. He would have to try that one day, but he would wait for a wolf not quite as angry looking as this one.

Hephaestus’ eyes narrowed at the intruder’s response. How could he be so relaxed when a clearly unfriendly and significantly larger wolf challenged him? The easiest explanations was that the riverstone was either genuinely over-friendly, didn’t know he was intruding, or was just simple, though the smirk on the silver wolf’s muzzle seemed to indicate otherwise. There was definitely some intelligence in his red eyes, and something that looked decidedly like pleasure.
Fortunately, for all he was vicious, Hephaestus was not a particularly aggressive wolf, and he did not immediately attack th foreigner. “Curiosity.” He said, in answer to the other wolf’s question. “I’m wondering why you’re here. I don’t much like intruders, you see” His tone was strange, on the surface almost polite, but with something that sounded almost amused under it, as if he was subtly mocking the other wolf.

[bg=ffffff]WORD COUNT;; 117 MOOD;; NOTES;;
He saw the wolf narrow his eyes in some confusion, rising a sense of satisfaction in Caidens chest. He was surprised that such basic and overused riverstone tactics still worked; he would have thought the other species would have figured them out by now. Oh well, the less they knew, the better!
"Intruders, eh?" Caiden replied. The thick furred ivory gray wolf down comfortably as he spoke, resting his slippery fin tail on the dusty ground. "Well if you find any, let me know. I have no respect for intruders as well," he agreed, giving Hephaestus a friendly smile. 'Genuine' helpfulness was always the best way to make 'friends', Caiden discovered through his many adventures and mishaps.
