Fangs were the first canine species ever on Ughondrea, and they pride themselves in this. All other species of wolf are descended from a common Fang ancestor who had a unique genetic code with all the mutations. Eventually, the unique DNA of this wolf became so different from that of the normal Fang wolf, interbreeding was not possible. The Fang subspecies is now forever on a separate path of evolution.

These uncommon gloomy wolves are the second largest subspecies of canine. They have long thin smokey black fur, and black eyes. They participate in pack affairs at a distance, preferring to be alone. They are very strategic and cunning, and see through tragedy clearly, and show good leadership qualities. However, most Shades cant get past feelings of intolerance of having company, and do not strive for dominance.

Its hard to see a personality from across the woods, first impressions are important and are based on looks. This shared belief of all Changlings makes packs contribution minimal, as they would prefer grooming themselves and modeling new fur patterns for the best look. All Changlings have a default fur, usually of three colors and it can be any pattern. They have the ability to change their fur, but not their eyes or shape. The only way to recognize a wolf that is a Changling is by their scent and eyes, as they constantly change their look.

The most striking feature of this breed is their fins, which can be of any variation. Some have dorsal fins, while others entire rear ends are a giant fin and restricted to living in water. They are very good at entertaining themselves, the most common method is pranks. They are compulsive liars, ad get kicks from tricking other wolves in any way possible. They sprout a pair of wings at the shoulder, and have hollow bones, making them fearsome predators of the sky. The temperament of these wolves are on the most extreme side of every spectrum. Emotions are extreme anger or extreme joy, never neutral or inbetween. They are the most loyal and suited to pack life, always willing to lay down their life.
